Digital Notation
Room 109 is still working on telling time to the hour. Now we are learning to see the similarities and differences of digital clocks and analog clocks.

Time
Room 109 is learning about telling time to the hour. We talked about how telling time helps to schedule our lives. We came up with examples of how time makes our lives easier. Then we practiced telling time to the hour on analog clocks in pairs.

Measurement
Room 109 has been studying measurement. We have been using different objects such as connecting cubes and paperclips to measure length and height.
Making Pizza
On February 23, Leela's dad came to our class to help us make pizza. Room 109 students pointed out the similarities and differences to making pizza versus making bread. We read the story The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza and compared ingredients. The pizza was delicious!

Baking Bread
With the guidance of Timo's mom, room 109 made bread. We read the books The a Little Red Hen and Making Bread to help build our background knowledge. The students loved mixing the ingredients listening to the bread machine knead the bread and smelling the bread as it was baking.
Zoomers
On February 20, room 109 investigated with the zoomers. We learned that there are different ways to initiate rotational motion. We also learned that the motion of an object can be changed by pushing or pulling.
Spinners
On February 13, room 109 investigated spinners. We learned that a for such as a push or pull is required to initiate rotation.
